This year I went to the Billygoat with a bit more training in my legs than in past years, although I was nursing a very sore left shoulder, thanks to a crash into a rock about two weeks before the Goat.
During the race, though the shoulder felt fine and I only crashed once, and did not hurt the shoulder, so I am ecstatic with that. And my training meant that I was probably running a bit more than in previous Goats, so I found myself seeing more people around me, which obviously helps tremendously, compared to being totally isolated.
Colette and I traveled to Moreau with Bruce Shenker, who had a great run, too. Colette cooled her heels by walking on trails for seven miles while Bruce and I ran the course.
In short, it was a splendid outing, although tiring, for all of us.
The EMPO Club workers did a fantastic job, I only wished that the locale could have been closer to my home, so that I could have contributed, but it wasn't, and I didn't contribute to the work--sorry everyone.
