Orienteering race 1:08:05 [5] **** 5.6 km (12:09 / km) +195m 10:21 / km

Day 2 in US championships. A 2 min(?) mistake on #2 on the last 100m in to the control, didn't check the direction enough and ended up along the wrong cliff/reentrant. The rest of the race was almost flawless and felt really good. Any lost time was due to running speed and not orienteering. I even kept up with Robbie on leg to #7 (150m) :)

Orienteering warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Warm-up to start, 1.5km walk with 150m climb, some jogging and stretching.

Orienteering race 1:14:08 [5] **** 5.5 km (13:29 / km) +220m 11:14 / km

US classic championship (combined 2-day results) at Moreau State Park close to Glens Falls, NY. Fantastic terrain, map and course. I had a big mistake on #5, just totally lost concentration and map contact, maybe 6min lost. Also a 2min mistake on #10. Read the control description saying hill, flat, south side. I see the hill and it is not flat, nor indistinct, but very sharp and at least 3m high, so I never continue to it but turn away. 2min later I realize the control must be behind this very distinct hill. Otherwise a good race.
