orienteering 1:28:00 [3] *** 5.9 km (14:55 / km)
spiked:3/15c

red course. yeah, what can i say.. had a really rough time out there.

orienteering 1:03:00 [2]

canoe-o. finally some nice weather. Mike & I cruised around the lake. got 11 controls but had to subtract 3 because we passed the hour-limit time.

Note

everything was great about this weekend: the idea of camping+orienteering, beautiful place, the company, the weather (yes, i like the combination of rain+orienteering, rain+sleeping in the bus but it may have made the hanging out and socialising part harder).. everything was great except for my orienteering, it sucked!
it's been a while since i made 15 min+ errors and here it happen at least once per race.
learned something new though, the abbreviation HFA as it said on some people's result instead of time, it means: had fun anyway = ) cute!
i guess i did at glimpses of my races, in between almost crying and giving up. well, got some really good workouts.. this is not an easy place to run, at least not where I chose to go.

blue course. i did BAD. was doing pretty well at some point, got a bit too confident and decided not to use my compass - ended up lost and very wrong.

trail run 20:00 [2]

cool down

orienteering 1:40:00 [3] ***
spiked:3/11c

wicked hard night-o. 14 controls in any order you wanted. i ended up getting 11 of them, avoided the area called "devil's armpit". when i got to the 5th control out of the ones i got, i think i had already been out for about 50 min and was doubting that my headlamp would last.. so i broke of and did the rest on my own. as i was approaching the pavilion my light slowly died, glad i was back!
Mike made me a s'mores, my first one.

trail run 37:00 [3]

A morning run from our campsite, along the Housatonic river + started going up the Pine Knob loop, it goes up to a peak on the Appalachian trail, it was too step to run though. It's so nice and peaceful up there, in that corner of CT. Well maybe not so quiet at Limerock park with all the cars racing.
Anyway.. back in New Haven and we did it again, switched cars and forgot our apartment key in Old Saybrook = ( so we drove up the bus and Mike climbed in through the balcony door.
