A rare chance to run to Orienteering. Fern and I ran down the hill to Flinders Uni only to find it overrun with children.

Course: 1 4.5 km
Ran pretty cleanly throughout, perhaps a couple of poor routechoice, but nothing to lose substantial time. I even kept a pretty good pace up the majority of the time. Overall it was a fun event.

Olave Hill Run
10:05 AM. Eden Hillls. Burned 1332 calories.

While Fern and Amber were going for a ride, i decided to run the Olave Hill Loop. I always like this run, it seems over quickly for a 15km loop. I guess because the hard stuff is over with after about 6km. The cllimb up Olave Hill Road is still tough and hard work, broken up this time by a bunch of CFS guys with chainsaws, i don't know what they were up to. Along Upper Sturt Rd in the park there were quite an abundance of Donkey Orchids and lots of isect eating plants coming up, but i couldn't find any of the reported Spider Orchids. I was caught in a shower all the way down Lonh Gully to the Kiosk and then had huge raindrops fall on me from the trees on the creek track. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the run, but was a little sad not to share it with anyone else.

Fartlek
6:08 PM. North Adelaide. Burned 720 calories.

The usual Fartlek loop with 30" on 60" off. It didn't seem all that hard and the recovery seemd a little long. By the end i wasn't quite feeling like that. My stoopid GPS died without warning again, can't work out what batteries are best for it. It was a nice evening for running and didn't get wet!

Kind of pissed off that i didn't get back to the office until 1815, so missed out on riding my bike home in the nice weather AND going for a run from the Uppill's. This has made me grumpy on a Tuesday morning.
