Wowza... heading into Night O after draining half a bottle of Nyquil, not ideal, but I actually felt OK after 11 hours of sleep on the Silver Bullet.
Just a short little 8+ K Night O course...
OCIN runs a tight ship. The course and organization was top notch. we stayed right at Hueston woods, with the start and finish both within 300 meters of our room! Great situation for a cold night of running through the snow. The first two controls went well, then I tried to get cute with control #3 in the frisbee golf area... I thought I could just follow the hole layout, but I should have just chosen a closer attack point and a bearing. The control was in a ditch near a golf "hole" and suddenly every hole needed investigating, as there were a lot of controls in this area. Followed this poor route with a really poor choice to get to the next control. Big time loss here. Not sure how I got so far off. The next few controls went OK, then came the monster control. No real issues, but a tough long distance control. Patience won out. The 8th control... I was a little west in my travel and thought I was east... spent some time looking the wrong way. 9 and 10 were easy, but 11 killed me. 500 meters of green. I chose to fight until the power lines, then follow them to a path to get through the rest of the green. 10 meters short of the power lines, I hit the raspberry bushes. Stopped me dead. I tried to fight through without losing an eye, or seriously cutting my face. My head was caught, legs and arms... I lost my map three times. Not fun. Eventually I came through. The rest of the run was tough, but manageable. It wasn't clean clean, but I was able to reorient ok and get a little confidence back.
Another win for my Seagate Team! We are now 4-0, with a 4-2 win. The team we played tonight had a lot of talent and some young fast guys, but the old farts emerged victorious. I had two goals, and almost a third. Fun clean game. Shantytown to celebrate the win.

Tread mill run. No soccer....
1% incline
I did two miles at 7.5 mph, 1 at 8, .5 at 7.5, .5 at 8, .25 at 7.5, .25 at 8, .5 at 7.5
It didn't seem like either speed was taxing. Just mixing it up. I would go faster, but the distracting TV is at a 20 deg. angle, which makes it hard to stay centered on the treadmill. I don't want to be a you tube fail blog video...
