Had another solid run. And first time as Irish Champ!
excl. M12 when I won middle or something I think cos' I followed a W21N who they mixed up and started at the same time as me.
I was kind of unsure coming into today. Lacking in confidence (which makes absolutely no sense less than a week since the JK). For some reason I felt last week was a complete once off, and I wanted to prove to myself that it wasn't. I just wanted to run a good race, and I figured this would always lead to a good result, be it Top 2 or win or whatever.
I knew certain legs could break your run but never make it by themselves, so I didn't mess them up too badly, although I was a little off for 1, and slow to 10, I read more than I should have. Generally I just recognised the easier controls and the harder ones. Easier; I sped up a bit: 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17. Potentially trickier; I read a bit more and avoided big mistakes: 1, 3, 5, 6, 10. But I still kept up a good speed. I did have mistakes, but not too much. About 20secs to 1, 20secs to 9, 30-40secs to 12.
I also lost a bit due to bad decision making, I went too wide to 10 and 11. I decided to climb early to 14 rather than drop, but didn't get such great running up above and could see the very nice running below. I thought I was also a little wide to 6, but it appears not to be too bad. But a very good run, these losses always happen, well, for the moment.
I had originally told myself that it wouldn't be a proper win, unless someone not only won the M20, but beat the 18s. Jack beat me by a little over a minute. But I don't care, it still seems fairly proper. He just nailed it too.
