Night Orienteering =D (British Night Champs) 57:41 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (32:41 @3) + (15:00 @4) *** 7.8 km (7:24 / km)
spiked:11/20c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

Uggh I went through the wars in this event, I didn't notice it much when i was running but i fell over tonnes. In british orienteering you can still do well if you just get running or navigation right, normally for me i just get the navigation right but last night I was crap at both.
Mistakes-
Bad rc to 2
Poor bearing to 3
Slow to 4(& 13,14,17,18,19)
Didn't exit 5 very well and as such missed the clearing for 6
Had an absolutely awful bearing and ran completely over a ditch (catching feature) without seeing it going to 15.
Same as 15 but it was a main path and a earth-wall going to 16
All in all probably 8-10min of mistakes.
Despite doing awful I did my best to have a good time (really important atm)
...(continued in a private note for those with my PW ;)...

Night Orienteering =D (Hugset ctrl setting) 1:24:00 [1] ***** 5.98 km (14:03 / km) +100m 12:58 / km
spiked:13/19c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

About 35min of this was in the dark the rest was in the twilight. Hugset woods in the twilight is a really scary place :/ I placed them all correctly even if I took 10minutes on a couple of them. I then went to check 3/8 of my dads 'easy' controls. I had to go find him to get him to tell me where he had put one of them so I could put it in the right place. I moved another of his and one which I didn't check was also wrong. Apart from missing that control everything went smoothly.

Night Orienteering =D (Hugset ctrl collecting) 17:00 [2] *** 2.2 km (7:44 / km) +20m 7:23 / km
spiked:10/11c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

I found it so easy, I don't know why. The only one I struggled (20s) on was the bingo ctrl which I shouldn't really have used. I got rave reviews on the technicality of the courses :) and a healthy amount of retirees too :L pity there weren't more people.
Thanks to Joe Taunton for helping with ctrl collecting :)
