PM Czech Middle Distance Championship Semi Final near Kuncice. Map: Kuni vrch, 1:10000. Really tired after arriving yesterday night after 18 hours of travel. Had to wake up at 6am to drive 4 hours to the race. Had no energy and had to walk alot of the course, the warm weather and high humidity did not help. Made several mistakes, my brain wasn't working and my legs wern't either. I didn't feel confident at all. Cool map with hundreds of knolls which make it very tricky. Actually ran 6.06 km. Placed 31/35

Running 30:24 [2] 6.08 km (5:00 / km) +130m 4:31 / km
ahr:145 max:160 shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite

AM Run over to Bowmont with a little loop in the neighbourhood over there and back. Cool, raining and humid (91%), 13C felt like 11C with the NE wind at 21 km/h. Still a bit of discomfort in my left achilles, not that bad though. Heart rate monitor was screwing up again, new battery time, so I just guessed. Now its time to get on a plane to Prague.

Orienteering 41:48 [3] 6.5 km (6:26 / km) +358m 5:03 / km
ahr:156 max:178 shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite

PM Ran the Bowmont course (1:5000) from last fall plus a little extra I added on. Surprised I didn't get rained on since it rained on and off all day. but that didnt' mean I didn't get wet. Bushes were wet and the trails were muddy, pretty slippery out. One mistake in the same place as last year (the vegetation is totally different than mapped). Surprisingly warm out 17C with a NE wind at 25 km/h.

Running 1:00:41 [2] 11.06 km (5:29 / km) +349m 4:44 / km
ahr:133 max:159 shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite

PM Run through the trails in Bowmont. Really muddy and slippers since I went out a few hours after a thuderstorm. It was pretty slow going with little traction. I only got a bit muddy and managed to stay on my feet. Left achilles still a bit tight and sore, again felt better towards the end of the run but not perfect. Nice out though the sun even started shining) 18C with a light N wind at 14 km/h and pretty humid around 80%.

AM/PM Run down along the Bow River Pathway to MEC to get a Euro plug adaptor and back home. Nice day (made it back before the thunderstorm) 20C with a 15-20 km/h SE wind. Left achilles pretty tight and a bit sore, got better as the run went on.

PM Bike to Dalhousie, Northland mall and home, getting things for Europe. Nice to strech out the legs after yesterday, feeling really good actually, left achilles a little tight but my left toe is a bit sore too, not as bad as I thought it would be though.
