Quick packraft with JT to work out transitions. Good thing as we discovered a problem with my inflation bag while inflating the raft.

Orienteering 1:25:34 [3] 6.76 mi (12:39 / mi) +636ft 11:37 / mi

Despite solid nav yesterday I totally screwed this one up.

I left the start and went straight to #16 which was I think in part due to the color of the straight line route and placement of the control numbers. Only the 1 of the number 16 was clear and the 6 was partially hidden in the fence/building. The start triangle was pointing to #1 so I should have paid more attention. I even attempted to search the area for the correct control and only realized my mistake when I looked to see if control 118 was on my route, then it all made sense.

Next mistake was going to 9 instead of 6, fortunately 6 was further along approx. the same bearing.

I will take full credit for my error at 13 as I took a poor route through the green and ended up on a parallel trail.

It is tough for me to go from a 35 control 1:24k map to a 16 control 1:10k map. The features come up so much faster and are more subtle which I expect but do not adjust for enough apparently.

Racing with JT but as solos so he could also get a map.
Traveled with Rootstock and Rev3 pretty much through the first 12 controls (B3, B1, B2, B4, B5, P, O, N, M, L, K, J, G, H, Q) where Rev3 opted for a different route. At E we split from Rootstock and hit D and C but ran into them again at B. Next was A then back past E where we saw Rev3 punching, then on to F, F1, I, R, F2, F3, F4 and F5 where we lost sight of everyone. We then punched B10, B9, B11 solo but ran into Rootstock once more at B8. We stayed locked together to B6 and B7 where JT and I punched first. We had not intended to race back but when JT looked back he didn't see them following and I thought they might have bolted to the road. We ran back our intended route and expected to see them on the road as we approached but there was no sign of them and we made it back to the finish for the win.
Very fun course. It may not have been clearable in dry conditions in its original format with the additional climb required.
