canoe paddle (C4) 3:16:59 [4] 20.66 mi (6.3 mph) +136ft

Started Day 3 25 minutes behind 2nd and 15 minutes ahead of 4th so our position was virtually locked in as long as we didn't have any mishaps. Had a very rough start with 30 C4s all trying to make it thru a narrow bridge and windy channel at the same time. 1st and 2nd place made it through relatively clean so we put ourselves in a hole right away. Raced into the Bartlett Carry with 2 other C4s and a K1 which was mayhem but a 6 minute mile with a canoe quickly remedied that. The rest of the way was uneventful with the exception of the tree stump we hit hiding just under the surface on a short cut out of the channel we took. Finished just behind the Olney Bros. (Former Olympic canoe racers) racing with a 14 yr old girl and a 70 yr old man in their C4 pro boat. Humbling.
Great weekend.

canoe paddle (C4) 4:39:42 [4] 30.22 mi (6.5 mph) +216ft

Started the day in 3rd, 15 minutes behind 1 and 2, 8 minutes ahead of 4th. Drag raced with another boat side by side the entire length of Long Lake which was fun but somewhat annoying too as it hindered our ability to chase down the first and second place teams. Rained hard near the Falls carry almost to the point where rain gear was necessary but fortunately it let up. Passing boats from the earlier waves on the Raquette River was a lot of fun as well but I was happy to see the finish at the Crusher when we got there.
Tomorrow will be a blast with all the carrys and the traffic.
