Weightexercise workout 45:00 [1]

Gibson's after reminding myself which African countries are where.

Note

USOC in Virginia this weekend reminds me how going there in November was always something to look forward to - and occasionally returning in the spring to train. A prolonging of the season, a different terrain and, often, the prospect of visiting DC. Found a photo of Beth and Z&M (Mocha a few days short of 4 mos and now a few days short of 15y 4mo) dated Nov., 2002 in front of the FDR memorial. Later cherry blossom time. Hard to give such journeying up.

Walking 53:14 [2] 2.65 mi (20:05 / mi) +82m 18:20 / mi

Kimball Pond excursion, nice enough day. Met a Dunbarton PD person in parking. He asked me if I knew where the semi-automatic rifle firing was coming from. I did. Surprised he asked as it was his town. The beaver dam caused a bit of anxiety with some ice on it and 1/2 moderately flooded. Met one hunter, top half of his body was 100% hi vis orange, wearing a balaclava and showing only his eyes.

Kimball Pond & surrounds have an allure of their own.

Orienteering 1:12:50 [1] 2.82 mi (25:50 / mi) +117m 22:53 / mi

Nottingcook O walk in part in response to last night's BOS meeting. Found the streamers for the proposed MTB trail as well as the nearby pig head and entrails left on the single vehicle track. No effort to move it from the trail...how dim the bulb burns. Sat in a hunter's stand briefly enjoying the vantage but not much of a view. Found two of my O markers that I must have put out about 5 yrs ago as an O experience for any takers-on. Don't think much interest was ever shown. The markers look as good as new. 'Got Snow' truck was there before 8am on M's walk and still there around 1245 when I left the brush dump area a second time. Back at 3, still there.
