Road running 48:53 intensity: (14:00 @2) + (20:53 @3) + (14:00 @4) 5.6 mi (8:44 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

5.6 Luti drizzle at times, humid, overheated. 50 on/50 off for 28' which is
energizing (maybe hit 7:30 pace). Don't do much of that sort of on & off anymore. Got the O walk as well as the run in between fairly heavy raining past 24h.

Of note
"TGIF" says the mouse. "I've got a roof over my head. I fell in with these soft-headed people".

Orienteering 1:20:00 [1] 2.5 km (32:00 / km)

Map hike on a white course in Nottingcook with Barbara D & Hilary W. Had promised to set up an O experience for any kid from Bow who shows up 10/29. Think I was an OK teacher for these two new to the activity. Stressed simple orientation (compass peripheral), thumb constantly on oriented map, not much more - simple legend/few features on a white course. Z&M were in heaven. Solitary bow hunter noted.

Done!

Road/trail 59:57 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (54:57 @2) 4.87 mi (12:19 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Up Clinton with goal of getting away from traffic. Into SPS woods, at one point wanted to cross stream but it was rather deep/fast flowing so skirted around. Then along Pleasant and into woods behind Pleasant View. Tired from yesterday. At one point on a power line fighting stickies/briars/brashings, dodging PI. Saw the OCD walking fellow, someone Diane & I ran by regularly 2-3 years ago - appears to do a daily c. 5mi walk. Part of me wanted to stop, walk & talk. OCD (obsessive etc) because he, on more than one occasion, would take a very short, apparently meaningless diversion (15-20m) & then continue on his way. We wondered gps but that was not the case. I still wonder but didn't/don't stop to ask.

Walking 19:00 [1] 0.6 mi (31:39 / mi)

DP, gray, changing weather. No one there. Left achilles making murmurs.

Road running 54:27 intensity: (34:27 @3) + (20:00 @4) 6.15 mi (8:51 / mi) +120m 8:21 / mi
shoes: New Balance 1011

Got outside at 11:20, pleasantly cool. 100% more energy than yesterday. Was able to stay in shade 85% of way. Little Pond - Fiske & got a bit competitive w/ splits. Honest run! Nice to have some minutes of 4 effort. No repercussions presently.

Walking 15:00 [1] 0.5 mi (29:59 / mi)

Am DP, another perfect fall day in the making.

Road/trail 45:00 [2] 4.0 mi (11:15 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1011

SPS wander after MSO, ie, 1:45, 80F. Had planned on something with enthusiasm until I realized a noon mtg, then it was a losing battle. Quintessential October day with sparkling water & leaves drifting slowly down.

Orienteering 3:00:00 [1] 5.0 mi (36:00 / mi)

At Hayes Field just at dawn. Not often am I up so early so it was refreshing to see the eastern sky lightening. We did our vetting zones, downloaded and checked to see all cp's were there/vsited. I think the courses were ok. Maybe some near repetition in green over the two days. Had not seen the stands we used before. Belonged to Val Meyer - very easy to place exactly where one wanted. Vetting proof was in e-punch downloading cp's visited and comparing against a master all-controls list. This seemed rather foolproof. We were done by 4pm. Ernst's saying "we've got them all" meaning all the SI units etc was most welcome. I was tired.... Weather was sunny, even hot in direct sun. Woods were lovely. How nice to be part of a competent crew. All-around exchange of hugs w/ Val, handshakes with guys and away we went, another BD completed!
