Easy road run. Feeling very noticeably 'off' as I had only logged a measly two runs throughout the entire month of May. Immediate first thoughts through my head as I headed out were "why am I already breathing so heavy?" following by "how can my legs possibly be stiff if I haven't done a damn thing for so long" as well as "is that my ass that's jiggling?!?"

This is the fourth straight year that I've had to abandon all efforts at training for the months of May and most of June in favour of event-work, and it will definitely be the last (making some changes for next year). I'm hoping the fact that I at least bought a fast & light new bike over the off season will keep the Gallys and Bent from selling off my WT spot!

To help with some motivation in getting back into race-shape, I signed up today for the Bear100 (http://www.bear100.com/) I've admittedly been on a bit of a bad run with long races 100km or more over the past year and half, but I still don't have a 100-miler crossed off the list, and a point-to-point route between Utah and Idaho seems like a pretty sweet deal (it's also a UTMB 4-pointer). Anyone up for a Moab trip this Fall?
