Note

good weekend results were okay could have been better but still good to prove the pint. but should have been a minute quicker on te final few stupid mistakes but was running really well and strong, quick. and again on the middle strong running but few stupid mistakes some because of a few bingo controls and others my fault but still 6th on M18E so rather good and 4th on M18E in the sprint and a poor run things can only get better! :D will put more later

Orienteering race 40:28 [5] ***** 7.59 km (5:20 / km)
spiked:18/27c shoes: Swoops

british middle champs

not a bad race but had a early start and think that could have helped with creating tracks though the marshes and tussucks which i was going fine though but i track would have made much quicker, wasnt a spot on clean run but was thinking i would have made a big mistake due to the nature of the terrian so was happy that, that didnt happen but there were a few bingo style controls such as 7,11,13,15,18 etc which were all little pits.

lost about 15s on 1 as was bit risky but bounced off 19 and nailed the control, lost 30 seconds on 2 just missed the little hole and was left looking, nailed 3, then caught alex up and got distracted and took a stupid route to 4 losing another 30 seconds. nailed 5 and 6. 7 was confussing with the map so lost 50 seconds and alex was back with me. nailed 8,9,10,11 and 12 and then 13 where i lost 30s with it being a bingo control pit which i must have run 5metres next two. nailed it to 14 then 15 was bit another funny pit losing another 30 seconds. dogdy route to 16 plus 20 17 was fine lost 30s 19 was fine and 20 then straight to 21 but lost 30 seconds when getting into the control slighty to far northeast. so lost around 4/5 and thats being nice could take it up to 6 minutes with small errors but was tricky and did well and 6th so ill take that still better to come

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Swoops

british sprint heat

happy with it not fully flat out but shifting and flowing well but didnt know what to expect as it was the first big race of the season but just zoned out and started well nailing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 all fine and flowing well then slow ish to 10 as it was a werid control description was ne side of building instead of being conrer but it cut off so had make sure i was going to the correct side so made sure then nailed it. flowed well to 11,12,13 but misseda shorter route to 12 but maybe slower as it was more turning not just flat out go for it. slight mistake on 14 hadnt planned my way out so was confussed then flying round 14,15,16,17 and then turned the screw on the way 18 and to the finish spiking all the remianing controls. spiked every control so good technique and my plan worked

Orienteering race 14:18 [5] *** 3.1 km (4:37 / km)
spiked:20/22c shoes: Adidas Adizero Adios

b final didnt expect the a final

but had a decent start one of the last starters from my good heat result. nailed 1 spot on and 2 and 3 but then longer route to 4 plus 10/15 seconds but then nailed 5,6 and started to turn the screw once i was going got 7 fine but there was a overpass from 2 buildings which wasnt on the map as it was on the 3/4 floor so not effecting a route but i saw it and it wasnt on the map so i began to question to myself but then worked out i was in the correct place still so didnt loss much time just probs slowed down slighty. 8 was ok 9 was fine but then went into the dead end and then come back and along the building which was also a dead end from olive green so lost 40 seconds here but didnt let it affect me and complety forgot about it! nailed 10 then caught tom beasant which was a suprise which really got me feeling good as id got 1 minute on him but focused on him to 11 instead f my course so took a longer route plus 10/15. but then nailed 12 then started to really kick in and staretd to hit the pain barrier nailed 13,14,15 and 16 and was just infront of tom. lost 10 seconds on 17 got distracted but fine though 18 and 19 slighty longer route to 20 plus 5 seconds the fine to finish. overall good run and 4th overall in M18E which is good and wasnt a clean run should have maybe won without my big mistake and route error? but deffo a top 3 but never mind. positives to take from the run was that i was running very well and strong so the training is working and the navigation training is working too. also good map reading apart from a few routes.
