Brown course at Pine Grove Furnace SP. OK run, except for #4 where I was sloppy going into the control and then spent way too long getting things figured out. Cost about 4 minutes. 2nd in M65 and 2nd overall on Brown. Mostly sunny, in the 40s.

90 minute Score-O on the French Creek Central map. Fun course set by Sandy on a perfect day for orienteering, bright sun and about 50F. Most of the leaves have dropped so visibility was excellent. Controls were worth 1, 3 or 5 points (9 of each for a total possible 81 points). Went more or less counterclockwise around the lake, aiming to pick up as many 5-pointers as I could and picking up 3 and 1 pointers more or less along the route. Got all but one 5-pointer, 6 threes and 5 ones for a total of 63, good for fourth overall. Small misses on three controls, mostly just a matter of being off line. Thanks to Sandy for the course and to Lena for stepping up as event director.
