A road race! OK 5k in Kinderhook, NY. Hard to get a course flatter than this unless it's a track. And it's just about as interesting as running on a track. But it's close, fairly cheap ($18 registering just a week before), and there were no orienteering events conflicting.

Race went pretty well and I hit my target time (23:30 - 24:00, based on gut feel since I have no actual data - i.e. speedwork). 118th/444 overall, 3rd M60-64 (of about 15) and 5th M60-69. Weather was good for running - upper 50s and overcast. Rain started about 30 minutes after I finished, so that was well timed (and an excuse to skip the awards but enough time to consume post-race food, which included ice cream!). Official time was 23:37 - ran 22:25 on this course in 2012.

At Ooms Conservation Area. Primarily grassy trails. Spectacular day, low 60's, sunny but quite windy.
