Orienteering race 2:09:37 [3] *** 12.2 km (10:38 / km) +431m 9:02 / km
spiked:12/16c shoes: VJ Falcons 4 (yellow)

DVOA event at Mount Penn - Antietam. Physically tough terrain with lots of rock underfoot and much light and medium green stuff. Pretty sloppy on the navigation. Lost about 10 minutes on assorted route choice and loose attack point errors then spent 23 minutes on a 3 minute leg right near the end (was a bit brain dead or lost interest and was just wandering around waiting to recognize something - finally when I stumbled across the last control for the second time I decided I should follow a bearing to the control I was looking for). Cold (upper 30's), breezy and overcast. Thanks to the volunteers who braved the conditions. Straight line distance advertised at 8.0km with 315m of climb. The climb may have been understated.
