Running warm up/down 13:24 [3]

Same warm up as last week but a minute faster, and it was quite a decent speed last week too... so a pretty fast compared to usual!

Running drills 35:22 [3]

Drills at the domain, I was better at the straight leg kicking one this time. We used the parachutes again too.
9 AM

Running warm up/down 8:00 [3]

Warm down, I decided not to do the Monghettis, tired enough as it was and I want to do the sprint today! :D
3 PM

Running warm up/down 9:00 [2]

Warm up for the sprint.
4 PM

Orienteering race 22:00 [4] ** 3.6 km (6:07 / km)
19c

Sprint at Unitec, was all good apart from number 4! Met Michael there, it turns out he messed it up too, had run past it a few times... I just basically wasn't concentrating, didn't know which part of the building I was looking at... then also ran past it! Lost about 2 minutes :(
Otherwise the navigation was fine, I found 3.6 to be getting a bit long for a sprint though.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2]

Brief warm down.

Running 51:18 [3]

A cruisy run down to St Heliers, up St Heliers Bay Road all the way to West Tamaki Road and then down Roberta, around Riddell Road and home the same way I used to walk home from school. Good run! Had to try not to go fast so I can work hard tomorrow.

Running intervals (Pt England track) 30:00 [5]

I planned this session but kept putting it off... then finally got out the door and made myself do it!
10 x 30:30s
5 x 60:60s
10 x 30:30s
It was tough, but at least the ones at the end were short. By the last few I wasn't recovering well at all... but at least I finished them :)
Overall I'm quite happy with how things have been going lately so hopefully this training pays off!
2 PM

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3]

The warm up was through Churchill Park to the start of the tracks in Tahuna Torea, the intervals I did through the Tahuna Torea tracks, track to Pt England, a bit on the road, and then back on the tracks again. Then the warm down was via Riddell Road instead of Churchill Park.
Yay I'm lucky it didn't rain on me, the weather is so patchy at the moment.

Road cycling 40:00 [3]

To uni.
4 PM

Running long 1:25:54 [3]

Run with Amber from her place to Grey Lynn, through the park there, through Ponsonby, down Curran St to the viaduct and all the way around the viaduct to St Stephen's Ave, up to Parnell and through the domain. Was a very good run, nice casual pace and I felt ok :) thanks for running with me Amber :)
6 PM

Road cycling 33:30 [3]

Back home, same deal as yesterday except less rain and less feeling tired :)

Road cycling 40:00 [3]

Headwind, boo.
2 PM

Running hills 8:00 [5]

8 x 1 minute hills in the domain, on the hill from the bowling club. I ran on the path to get more speed and because the grass was pretty slippery, I didn't have the shoes for it. These were really killer, there is something horrible about 1 minute hills, I think it's because you think it's a sprint but then halfway up you suddenly realise that 30 seconds is a lifetime.

Running hills 2:00 [5]

4 x 30 second hills on the small grassy hill in the middle of the domain fields... I should have maybe done a few more but yeah... 1 min recoveries in between.

Running warm up/down 53:00 [3]

19 minutes warm up on the domain tracks, pretty hilly.
1.5 minute recoveries between the longer hills.
15.5 minutes on the tracks again between the two sets of hills, was slowww.
1 minute recoveries between short hills.
5 minutes warm down at the end.

Not a bad run overall, would have been better if I was running with the others, I just had to pretend it was a usual Tuesday night.
4 PM

Road cycling 34:00 [3]

Tailwind, wahoo, if it wasn't for that this ride would have sucked big time because I was tired and it rained on me :(

Running 1:00:37 [3]

From my mother's work to Mt Wellington and around the top of it, then back down and through St John's and St Helier's to get home. Wasn't feeling that energetic but felt better after some time. It is frustrating wanting to run up Mt Wellington because you have to go along lots of dead boring flat roads to get there.
12 PM

Road cycling 28:00 [3]

Just to the pilates class and back, about 14 minutes each way.
1 PM

Pilates 55:00 [2]

I went with my mother to her Pilates class... gosh it has been so long since I did Pilates, makes me nostalgic for the excellent instructor I had in Switzerland... this class was quite different, I'm not sure if I liked the style that much. But I could feel my muscles working and that's really what counts. I should start doing this regularly really, or yoga maybe, I used to enjoy it so much.

Running long 1:21:19 [3]

I bumped into Nick and Geoff at Cascades carpark so went running with them instead of by myself! It was a very good run, I survived it, most of it was fine I just found myself getting very tired on some of the hills. The pace was faster on the hills than I normally would have done. We went on the Auckland City Walk, Anderson Track, Tramiline Track, past the dam, Fenceline Track, Montana Hills track and then Upper Kauri (or something like that). Oh and went to the waterfall towards then end also, I hadn't been there before, rocks were so slippery :S

Running drills 49:00 [3]

Drills with Mike A in the domain, they were really good! The most difficult one is the one where you have to sort of kick your leg out straight in front then bring it straight down... I feel quite uncoordinated when I do that one. But most of the others are ok. Running with parachutes was fun except I couldn't get mine that far off the ground, need to run faster I think.

Running warm up/down 21:00 [3]

We did a warm up around the domain tracks for about 14 minutes, then a warm down which was a lap of the road. I think it took about 7 minutes but I didn't time it so I can't be sure. The aim in the warm down was to pretend the world was a treadmill underneath you, it worked well at helping me to land on the middle of my foot and helped me to travel further with each stride (by generating more power, not by overstriding).
6 PM

Running 31:20 [3]

Felt like a run this evening so I just did a short one around Riddell Road, quite casually. Feeling ok :)
Also it sucked a bit that I couldn't do the sprint today because of a rehearsal for a cello group I'm playing with. The rehearsal was waaayy too long.
