Orienteering at Rabbit Island. Was feeling marginally more human than yesterday, but it still felt like hard work for not going very fast at all. Running in terrain definitely needs some work too!! I think I've become unused to it.

Oh yes, and then to top off the fantastic week I've been having, I well and truly sprained my left ankle on the way to control 18. Lay in pain for a minute or two before deciding to hobble around the final loop so I could at least say I finished. Running probably off the agenda for at least a few days...

FML.

Awful run. Suppose it's not too surprising with the week I have had. Also unwisely ended up running in the hottest part of the day. Went up the Grampians but abandoned initial plan of going all the way to the top because I already had to walk parts of the hill lower down. So drained of energy :(

New exercises for general whole body strength at the gym. Didn't manage to get through all of them as I am doing the pm shift at work the next 7 days which starts at 4. The day goes by surprisingly fast, especially when you sleep in!

Wanted to run the offroad race up Centre of NZ tonight. But unfortunately work is kicking my butt at the moment and I didn't leave until after 7pm :( and I was in a crap mood because I had to break too much bad news to patients today. Anyway, so all I ended up doing was a random run up the Maitai and back of Centre of NZ. It was quite dark towards the end so I had to take it slow. Might be needing that headlamp soon...

Junk miles maybe but good for the mental health.

Core class at the gym. It was ok, might be better when I am more familiar with the exercises. Would consider going again. Alternatively, could just add some of the exercises to my pre-existing routines :)

Spinning at the gym. Got a bit silly and went harder than I should have. Fun though.

Short summer series race at Isel Park in Stoke. Enjoyed it a lot more than expected! Fun course setting, with lots of loops making the most of the interesting part of the map, and the fact that it was short meant that you treated it like a sprint race and ran fast. So actually, a pretty good training.
