Note

I suppose the weather was nice enough that I technically could have biked to work, but my legs said no dice. I also had to start the day off with getting a crown removed at the dentist (who used a massive amount of freezing). That was followed by getting a flu shot in the afternoon, so I was toast at the end of work.

I guess I only really started training when I moved to Ottawa in August, so I'm pretty pleased with the race considering that really wasn't that long ago and my training is still very sporadic.

Orienteering Race race 4:42:13 [4] 30.0 km (9:24 / km)

Raid the Hammer; don't know the exact time but it was longer than this.

Legs are toast; especially my feet (no dress shoes Monday).

Great racing with Tiny and Audrey. Great day in the woods.

First Place Coed. First time winning a category.

Running 38:00 [1]

Cruise in the trails with Patrick and Super. Saw a very tough looking deer who wasn't very impressed with us.

Friday Nov 12, 2010 #

Running 50:00 [2]

Westdale Ravine Trails with Turbo and then 2 loops of the park. Turbo evidently always runs hard.

Running 40:00 [1]

Morning run with KillerK along the river, her bread and butter run. Was very early, but the sun came out and it was lovely.

Cycling 30:00 [1]

To and from work and Carleton (a little longer than this). Bike was making some scary noises in the morning but seemed to have fixed itself later in the day. Long live the Empire.

Running 1:20:00 [4]

Chelsea Trail running group. Dave Mac's Canyon trails which was 5 x various hills. Includes warm up and hammer fest cool down.

Number 1 felt very easy (from nordic Chalet to Ridge near racing trails)
Number 2 fine (Chalet to Ridge by Chicken Run)
Number 3 was long and very painful (all the way up the CBC road)
Number 4 decent, basically up the Fortune Hill and onto the single track stuff, should have gone harder in the woods)
Number 5 I tried to stick with Dave and James but ran out of gas at the end when it went vertical at the top of the ski hill. Passed by a dude so was 4th, but ahead of the Hulk.

Felt really good today except on Hill 3.
