Strength Training (core) 20:00 [0]

Can't really wear shoes because of my blisters so did core strength in front of the news.

Also played softball but I figure that training done in Crocs shouldn't be logged.

Running 50:00 [1]

Wanted to go for a long run, but failed miserably. Just out of energy today.

Orienteering Race 41:25 [4] ***** 4.9 km (8:27 / km)
24c

Middle course at Terwillegar that Angela and Robert put on, really solid course. Lots of controls and the wide open area is super fast right now with the low grass.

Controls were right on the ground, had to be right there.

Had trouble with 8 (clump of trees in an open area that all look the same.)

Starting to get a flow in and out going, but still very static.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Total warm-up and cooling down; warm up with Will discussing various ski coaches being hired around the country.

Orienteering Race race 40:00 [3] *** 5.4 km (7:24 / km)
11c

Goldbar O course. Sort of Medium style, not much route choice, lots of put your head down and run sections.

I think its easier to run up Esso Hill than ski it. Neither are fun.

One control in the wrong spot, and one missing.

Good to have Les Parsons and Matt Surrette out. Added bonus: Matt's going to take Tolly's bike off of my hands which means: I'll soon be down to 1 bike and I'll have less bikes in my living room.

Orienteering Race race (Sprint) 16:04 [5] ****
spiked:12/15c

Super fun sprint that Geraint had set up by connecting a bunch of the junior and short controls. Wish I had run this before the Middle as my legs were kind of toast.

Will had a really fast run. I'm being a bit hesitant attacking the control, need to work on getting in and out faster.

Strength Training 20:00 [5]

Les' crazy core strength stuff at the Kinsman playground. Lots of stuff around the apperatus and the swings (evidently the swings stuff he learned from the Italian team at the Olympics).

Hockey or Soccer (Ultimate) 15:00 [4]

The last 15 minutes of the Ultimate game that the team used for warm-up. My arrival was the TSN turning point.

Running 20:00 [2]

A run at the end of practice for the ski team, did a bunch of hill repeats on the stairs as Hakon seems to be obsessed with stair climbing and we did some mega painful jumping and bounding up them as well.

Roller Skiing 1:15:00 [1]

Roller ski drills with Hakon. Just back and forth along a short stretch, very slow.
The annoying thing about working on fundamentals is that you realize all the things wrong about your technique.

This would be much easier if I hadn't learned how to skate in 1989.
