H3 at HPD (GPS track 6.78km)

Apart from running into a branch and putting a hole in my thigh I was happy enough up to #4. I found Craig's cup on a stick control and then wasted about 3 minutes wondering where the hell I was if this wasn't the right spot.

NOTE: It's really hard to relocate and make the map un-fit an area that is actually the right spot!

Had to get down to the fence and come back up (again pointing straight at the cup on a stick) when I was lucky enough to see the control off to the right.

Next couple I turned right around a rock and had I looked left would've seen the control both times. Once out of the detail everything started to slot in to place.

A bit sloppy through 9. Went wide left to 11 and straight into the control - always nice to come straight in when I add distance.

#14 once again saw me look right when I should have looked left!

Next week I need to take a good deal of care to exit controls on short legs in exactly the correct direction. Every error today on short legs was slightly right.

Bloody difficult to run in that bush at the moment, felt at times like I had done absolutely NO training at all.

Really enjoyed this one - trying to nail the exit features each time, which I did all but twice.

Still need to concentrate on going perfectlyt out of the control and checking the actual location of the control from the descriptions - Craig overtook me at the last one and I thought I went the correct way around the rock. However, my way was blocked by deadfall and Craig was in and out in a flash. I then proceeded to find every bit of shitful deadfall on the way to the finish.

That part of next week will suck - a lot!
