Easy run hills 42:00 [3] 8.6 km (4:53 / km) +180m 4:25 / km
shoes: Asix GT-2100

BAOC training run at Stanford. We run from Town and Country through campus to the DIsh and around the dish loop. The first part was very easy pace, then faster around the Dish. Didnt keep up with folks and stay with E pace.

Orienteering 36:00 [4] ** 3.2 mi (11:15 / mi)
shoes: Asix GT-2100

A few controls Rex had mapped on the way back from the Dish to Town and Country.
Played lead the pack game taking turns navigating, with some good sprints and rest till full recovery between legs while discussing route choise. Legs were tired by the end of the run.

Note

Dinner at Hobee's Restaurant - one glass of beer

Easy run warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.6 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Asix GT-2100

Easy warmup - common tiredness after Tahoe.

R run intervals 4:02 [4] 1.2 km (3:22 / km)
shoes: Asix GT-2100

R pace intervals, 3x400m - 1:28, 1:21, 1:15, with 400m walk till full recovery. Didnt feel up to any workout but later mind cleared and somehow was able to do R pace intervals. Felt terrible during first one, but last despite faster pace was very good. Dropped because of fear to overuse right met - still painfull in the evening and after faster runs.

Stretching 15:00 [3]

Orienteering race 1:50:20 [5] *** 8.6 km (12:50 / km) +560m 9:41 / km
spiked:12/16c slept:7.0 weight:81kg shoes: Adidas Alborado II

Spooner lake north part. Way better in comparision with saturday. At least no obvious mistakes - had some hesitations about location on the couple of legs, but overally was clean enough race. Lost about 5min max, plus helped one young lost soul to figureout her location (around 2min stop)...

Tough race. Killing climb to #3, but Einar ran uphill. Impressive. #3-#4 decided to avoid conturing on rocky slopes and goind down reentrants, so cut uphill. Had hesitations about location in the midle of the leg before hitting trail. Also, mismached rock formation where #4 was. #12 was hard to find after fast downhill and following climb, ran it with Martin, who also had problems with #12 we where to low. #13 would be ok but mireaded streem bads and was looking for control 50meters north from right location - saw fence corner, but didnt see streem. Decided to run till trails intersection to be 100% sure about which fence I've hit. Found it with no problems after that. Finish was slow - wasnt able to move fast on the flat road Tapio passed me by 20 meters at least. After all not a bad race, lost about 10min.
