Run (Narrinyeri Hills) 38:00 [3]

Went for an easy run along the Lavender Federation Trail through Narrinyeri while Tyson took my Mum flying from the Pallamanna Aerodrome not too far away. This trail is really fun to run on with lots of rocks and twists and turns. I went through the culvert under the trainline for the first time on the stepping stones and the water was a great clear aqua colour. Beautiful, sunny morning for it.

Run (Hawthorndene) 41:00 [3]

Easy run around Hawthorndene in the dark - Turners Avenue and then past the fire station, etc. A lot of the paths were very slippery and wet!

Cycling (Commute) 51:00 [3]

Ride home up the hill. Ride, ride, ride. Just a bit of drizzle as I climbed the back of Shepherds Hill. Definitely nicer traffic leaving just before 5pm as opposed to just afterwards.

Run (Belair) 52:00 [3] 9.6 km (5:25 / km)

Nice night run in Belair with Jenstar, Zarastar, Troysta, Steve-da-sta, Johnsta and Tynomighty. Felt pretty good and I think the few days of relative rest has allowed my left hip to recover. Love these runs in the dark and the light rain.

Cycling (Commute) 37:00 [3]

Cold hands! I really need to invest in a pair of full cycling gloves. :)

I was going to ride home again, but I've decided to stay at work until we go out for dinner at 7pm and work on my final assignment due Saturday. I'll finally get my life back at the end of this week and have to bugger off to Europe! Not really disappointed, but I would like to get some long runs in and stuff that I've been missing out on lately due to study.

Run (North Adelaide) 44:00 [3]

Run around North Adelaide with Tyson, John, Bridget, Simon and Robin. Great to catch up with how everyone went in Tassie.

My left hip was still sore, sending pain down to my knee and ankle. It was runnable, but I wouldn't have liked to try running fast on it. Hopefully it will realign itself/loosen up soon.

Note
(rest day)

Legs were SORE this morning. Much better this evening, but will benefit from a rest. Did some stretching instead.

Rogaine race (Bartagunyah) 2:45:00 [3] 12.7 km (13:00 / km) +680m 10:15 / km

After musli and yoghurt for brekky and decking out in our warm gear, Tyson and I headed out for a small loop to the north, touching on Mt Remarkable National Park.
We had decided at the beginning to leave the controls to the north, especially those on and around Mt Remarkable, out of our path. It's just too steep and thick in there - not enough reward for effort. So we went out to get 6 controls not too far to the north and west of the HH. I put on different shoes (runners rather than trail runners) and my feet felt much better. It had rained heavily overnight so it was quite slippery in places. I remember waking up at around 3am and it was bucketing down on the tent. I felt so sorry for all the poor buggers out doing the 24hr State Champs. We didn't get any rain, but boy was it freezing and windy, especially on the ridgelines that we followed wherever we could.
In the end, we took out the 12 hour - 1st overall. I was really surprised, but I guess that consistent walking with zero navigational errors (just a couple of poor route choices) really makes a difference. Once again - it was really Tyson's win for being such a great navigator.
