Run (Cundinup) 54:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:00 / km)

Went for a morning jog with Tyson and Dad from the farm into the bush. We were relying on Dad for navigation, but forestry have changed all the tracks due to recent logging operations and we somehow got a bit bushed. A half hour dawdle turned into an hour long epic! It was a great run though - a real adventure. We did quite a bit of bush-bashing (I didn't include these bits in my timed run) along tracks that didn't quite exist or disappeared. We saw a brush tailed wallaby that was shocked to see us and some red tailed black cockatoos. It was a releif to see a familiar track and the farm appear before us again! We certainly earned breakfast. :)

Note
(rest day)

From the farm in Cundinup Tyson and I headed south past One Tree Bridge to Pemby where Tyson climbed the Glouster Tree (I know better than to try with my fear of heights) and we had lunch before heading back via Beedleup Falls and Nannup to visit my old work mate and show Tyson around the town I lived in for 4 years where my Dad grew up.
Apparently they are putting in a permanent O course around the Nannup foreshore. I'll have to give it a go next time I'm in town!

Orienteering race (Frazzled out) 1:13:43 [3] *** 5.8 km (12:43 / km) +230m 10:36 / km
spiked:14/14c

Today they took our course through the green. Controls 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 were all in the green. By number 7 I'd had enough and took the long route around the green through the sandy paddock which was probably a good choice. I was lucky to hit 5 and 6 in the vague, thick green on a compass bearing, but I struggled to find 7 after going too high from the fence corner. The last 6 controls in the relatively fast rocky paddocks were a relief - although I struggled a little with the last control. I think I was tired!

Orienteering (Frazzled again) 1:23:36 [3] *** 6.7 km (12:29 / km) +280m 10:19 / km
spiked:19/19c

Another good run around the same rocks, but further west today taking in sandy farmland. Not so much green, so the running was faster (but also really hot in the sun as I had a late start). The trees were mapped really well and I used these more than once to lead me to the control from a distance. These rocks are amazing!

Orienteering race (Frazzle begins) 1:20:40 [3] *** 6.0 km (13:27 / km) +260m 11:03 / km
spiked:17/17c

Had a pretty good run today and maintained contact with the map. Some amazing rocks and lots of bare rocks made for easy running. The green was very thick though because of fallen small trees in the recent storm, so the few controls in the green were tough. Overall pretty happy.

Orienteering race (Pre-Frazzled) 20:33 [3] *** 2.5 km (8:13 / km)
spiked:21/21c

Public Prologue - jog around the rocks after an early start to get the 6:15am flight to Perth. Wow - big rocks. Happy with how I read the map.

Run (Hawthorndene) 39:00 [3] 6.1 km (6:24 / km)

Run with Tyson around Hawthorndene. We looked at a house for sale on Myrtle Avenue to see what you get for under $400K in the area.
