Finally proved to myself this weekend that I can actually do this elite orienteering thing by pulling together 3 solid races in one weekend. I've struggled for so long to put together a full weekend of clean races (heck even one complete race) and it feels awesome to have a super weekend like that! Fourth Canadian in the middle yesterday!

Cycling to the score-o at McCarthy Woods.

Far too hot out and still tired from the weekend but the orienteering was super easy and it wasn't too long. I was third back after Tea and Alex B who both had a 2 handicap.

Slowing things down leading into the races on the weekend.
This was buffet orienteering. I started with control picking on a roughly 1:10000 map then switched to a bit more control picking on the ~1:5000 map when my brain decided it couldn't handle the ridiculously complicated map at 1:10000. Ran the last bit back to the car on a contours only version of the map.
The map is super cluttered and could really do with being cleaned up. It makes the orienteering way way trickier than it needs to be.

Awesome map memory session with Robbie and Nate on Polebrook... more later

Estimate on time on an activity with Boris on Surebridge. I was too exhausted for most of it though and had trouble even lifting my feet over fallen trees hidden in the blueberries and or ferns let alone map reading... Bad news all around.
