Note

C25K note:

I've now fiddled with the fancy watch so that it won't beep that I'm going too slow until I'm slower than 6.15min/km and it will tell me I'm going too fast at 5.45min/km.

Previous settings had 'too slow' at 5.35min/km and too fast at 3.58min/km. I have bounced off both off them at various times. 5.21min/km seems to be my 'comfy' pace, based on previous C25K splits in which I felt good, comfy and in control. And was going gently downhill.

It will be interesting to see how the next week goes.

O race (Gunapin Ridge Badge W21AS) 1:00:51 intensity: (2 @1) + (1:30 @2) + (21:14 @3) + (38:05 @4) *** 5.36 km (11:21 / km) +173m 9:47 / km
ahr:162 max:179 spiked:8/13c shoes: Asics Trabuco 11 WR

Pretty unhappy with this effort.

Clean to 3

4 - strayed well to the left, recognised I was wrong from the watercourse, but still took ages to re-locate properly and nab the control.

5 - pretty clean - realised compass was trying to drag to the left again and ignored it

6 - another big error. Won't be entirely sure of how I got it so wrong until I see RG, but I'm betting money on dragging to the left again. Ended up having to re-locate from the FENCE.

7,8 - clean

9 - None of the three rocks in the circle appeared to be in the centre. Found control on the second one I checked. (Note - RG shows I didn't even make it into the circle before checking my first rock - fail.)

10 - Nice leg - couldn't figure out how I wanted to do it, so did a headless chicken impression. Then when I was in the vicinity, it seemed very clear to me - but number on the stand was for control 11. Headed up the hill - another big time loss.

11 - Very fast - knew exactly where I was going!

12 - Randomly checked a control that was in my flight path, I have no idea why. Couple of seconds lost for being a moron

Clean 13 and finish - ran across the paddock as quick as I could sustain, convinced there was someone hot on my tail. Not actually so, despite him entering 12 as I was leaving it.

Note

Played Race The Train this morning.

I am not as good at it as tRicky.
8 AM

cycling 26:29 intensity: (26 @0) + (1:06 @1) + (3:51 @2) + (8:04 @3) + (10:08 @4) + (2:54 @5) 9.51 km (21.5 kph) +22m
ahr:145 max:180

Tried to race the train from Mt Lawley to Maylands but am not very good at it. Train stopped at Mt Lawley as I went past and I didn't _quite_ make it to Maylands before it left.
7 PM

cycling 23:14 intensity: (36 @0) + (23 @1) + (5:56 @2) + (11:18 @3) + (5:01 @4) 8.5 km (22.0 kph) +24m
ahr:136 max:163

Ride home with an evening's shopping tucked into the backpack. Mostly very casual enjoying the evening - but noticed the wind kicking up at times.

First time ever didin't manage to unclip with the foot that needed to go on the road. Embarrassing slow-mo fall at the main entrance to Burswood. Bitten by the big cog at the front, but no incapacitating injuries.

walk/shuffle 11:20 [1] 0.75 km (15:07 / km) +11m 14:04 / km
ahr:87 max:119 shoes: Asics Trabuco 11 WR

Walk to park. Garmin eventually found a satellite.

walk/shuffle (C25K W3) 15:09 intensity: (16 @1) + (3:49 @2) + (5:31 @3) + (5:12 @4) + (21 @5) 2.22 km (6:49 / km) +29m 6:24 / km
ahr:151 max:190 shoes: Asics Trabuco 11 WR

Erk. Felt awful. Absolutely no lung capacity. Cold air doesn't work well with delicate lungs.

Still not seeing a way to feasibly step up to the next week of C25K.

walk/shuffle 12:43 intensity: (23 @1) + (10:47 @2) + (1:33 @3) 1.26 km (10:06 / km) +40m 8:42 / km
ahr:132 max:157 shoes: Asics Trabuco 11 WR

Walk back to house practicing expanding lungs - felt crap.

Might go see my Dr and go back on the purple spaceship asthma stuff.

(rest day)

A day to wrestle with my desire to eat my own bodyweight in polenta.

cycling 27:27 intensity: (7:27 @1) + (8:01 @2) + (10:56 @3) + (1:03 @4) 9.59 km (21.0 kph) +13m
ahr:133 max:162 shoes: Defy

Water just amazingly still this morning - took a bunch of photos of early morning reflections and for the first time in ages, wished I was paddling instead of cycling.

Another morning of not a whole heap of energy, but no niggling pains - I'll take it for a bit longer I think.

Cool and perfect.

Commute 2010-06-01
5 PM

cycling 19:51 intensity: (2:36 @1) + (2:05 @2) + (7:22 @3) + (7:48 @4) 7.87 km (23.8 kph) +43m
ahr:146 max:174 shoes: Defy

Another slow ride home.

Saw Poppy and Juffy in their team configuration and waved hello.

Another enjoyable ride.

Note

Wore my knee warmers this morning. They lose all ability to make me feel like a super-sekrit sexy ninja when worn with bike pants.

It is a sadness.
8 AM

cycling 40:35 intensity: (26 @1) + (2:32 @2) + (31:51 @3) + (5:46 @4) 15.28 km (22.6 kph) +35m
ahr:131 max:168 shoes: Defy

There and back again.

No go in the legs this morning or this afternoon, but otherwise felt great. No niggly pain in the knees or the ITBs and no sore spots in the muscles. Just - no oomph.
7 PM

Physio (stretch and strengthen) 40:00 [1]
shoes: Barefoot

Hmm. Nothing impinging at the moment - comfortably resting in pigeon, nearly sitting properly on the floor in that yucky, yucky stretch and twisting much further than normal.

Not sitting at a desk is good for body.
