O race (H3!!) 1:42:09 [3] *** 5.8 km (17:37 / km)
spiked:7/14c shoes: Asics 1140 size 10

Started very badly, in that I pretty much popped onto my control, assumed that it was not my control and then spent another 8 minutes looking for my control before finally giving in and checking that it was...hey! my control!

Other major disaster was at 9, where, after scouting the two huge rocks, I failed to see my watercourse and ran off down another one, finally figured out what the hell I was doing (compasses are sometimes useful, yo). Minor (by my standards) mistakes at 11 and 13, due entirely to letting myself be distracted by someone who looked like they knew what they were doing. Big joyful splash in the creek on the way to 14 and then got my ass kicked by a guy in his 60's between 14 and the finish.

Rolled my left ankle 8 times and my right ankle 4 times - all inwards rolls, which stung, but only fell twice.

I think this counts as a good day for me, compared to HIll Park Dale. I look forward to actually getting fitter and better at navigating. Lots more fun than doing the M.

cycling (JFNP trail) 30:00 [2] 9.5 km (19.0 kph)
shoes: Giant Hybrid

Juffy dropped me off near Parkerville for a pleasant amble down the rail trail.

Beautiful.

I am now noting that I have isch.... sit bones what have ridden twice in a week after over 18 months of nothing. Oh-ow.

Yoga 1:45:00 [2]

Hall freezing! And the week of lazy floowed by a bike ride meant I was completely wonky and tight and found everything ridiculously, stupidly hard.

Physio (Hips) 25:00 [1]
shoes: Barefoot

OMFG will this never stop being painful and difficult?

Didn't get all the way through the set this morning. So. Hard.

Note

I just impulse purchased a hydration pack from the Post Office.

cycling (JFNP rail trail) 40:00 [2] 9.0 km (13.5 kph) +200m
shoes: Giant Hybrid

Got home in daylight to speak to the plumber (baddish news) and took advantage of the early finish to jump on the bike and go for a wander in JFNP. This IS why we moved here, so we could do this on a regular basis. :)

Note
slept:5.5

Piked out of Tuesday night yoga due to being pathetic about the weather (not that we do yoga outside, which makes it even more pathetic).

Wednesday early physio session - ITB's standing up to the full physio elbow treatment, TFLs still tender.

Wednesday evening doing a detailed interview for the study on public attitudes to forest thinning for water. Has anyone else done that survey? Would have come through the Bib Track or Munda Biddi Foundations.

And now it's Thursday and I've not managed to do anything exercise-y and I feel blah.

Of course, all the being blah and pathetic has resulted in a nearly finished knitted beanie, which is a positive.

Physio 20:00 [1]

I feel like I should be able to log this at intensity 4, even though not much is happening, simply because it's so damn hard.

All exercises bumped up a notch, am allowed to start jogging again on the weekend.

Still hard, but I can no longer feel the ITB when doing the ITB stretch he gave me. Hip flexors and calves still refse to soften in any way.
