Shame on me. Decided that I could downgrade my clothing to run a little faster and less restricted, and ended up downgrading my focus too. Essentially I was thinking that feeling light in the woods would make me feel smooth and I could cruise easier. Once I got my heart rate up, the discipline I had previously used to look at my map while running slowly faded. So my Orienteering sucked.

I'm fairly confident that I could have dropped about 15 minutes off my time with just a few more deliberate stops to complete the thinking/"plan vs. where I actually am" process. But hindsight is 20/20.

Not terrible, I had some fun and felt good to Orienteer again. I was worried after the highlander. bigger mistakes on 5, 10, 16, 19. forgot to pay attention to distance traveled on 5, bailed too soon on 10 so never found my attackpoint, didnt stick to my compass bearing to 16 and just fought through the undergrowth, didnt read the area around the control properly on 19 so went to wrong area.
