orienteering race (Frazzled Out) 57:41 [4] 6.0 km (9:37 / km)
shoes: new Olways

First leg was a danger leg into green no-man's land but I pulled it off by going due south from the clearing and looking for rocks on my right. Overshot 2 but relocated off a boulder to the west - good save. Direct through green to 3, the fallen sheoaks were hammering my shins but hamstring which had been bad before starting, was letting me jump logs okay. Took the high route to 4 which was a good choice. Out in the open was a bit scrappy, slightly left on 6 & 7, went around the hill to 9 and nearly vagued out, which was a wakeup call to concentrate more carefully. Had expected Sus & Anna to catch me by now, and I'll admit to looking over my shoulder, then pushing myself a bit harder when I couldn't see them! Luckily the controls along the hillside back towards the finish were no-brainers, though I didn't appreciate having to bash through the green again at the end, maybe lost a minute there.

orienteering race (Frazzled Again long) 1:26:05 [4] 9.6 km (8:58 / km)
shoes: new Olways

First few legs were across a hillside with fallen sheoaks and I had no trouble with them but must have been slow because Anna had caught me 2 min by 4th control. Chased her across the open paddocks and through some very obviously-placed controls, then came in to the cliff at 11 from above and couldn't get down so had to go around. Somehow then the blonde ponytail I was chasing had turned into Wendy, and Anna was out of sight! Took the direct route up the bare rock hill on the long leg thinking I wasn't fast enough for the paddock route - maybe it didn't matter. Neuroma started playing up at the hour mark. Finished strongly enough though I suspect that going around after the fence control would have been a minute faster than bashing through green. Pleased with my focus & endurance but clearly lacking last September's pace.

orienteering race (Frazzle Begins middle) 39:20 [4] 4.7 km (8:22 / km)
shoes: new Olways

What can I say, I loved this map! A combination of Kooyoora & Cascades, which wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, and I let myself get pushed around by the green a bit, but only real time loss was 30 sec on 8 where I had counted gullies correctly but accidentally looked around to see Bridget behind me (2 min) and forgot where I was up to so doubled back to check the wrong gully.

orienteering race (Pre-Frazzled sprint) 15:52 [4] 2.2 km (7:13 / km)
shoes: new Olways

There is such a thing as a clean run! Shannon caught me a minute halfway round but she was scrappy thereafter. Also, I wasn't beaten by any of the junior girls!

running (Kings Park) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel 2160

From Richard & Nicole's through Kings Park. Past the lake and really cool playground where I went yesterday afternoon with Anne & kids, past the bootcampers, up & down DNA tower (great sunrise) then to the other playground which the kids had mentioned, to compare it, and back home. Nice run; shins preferred the sandy tracks. hamstring is a lost cause. Now to collect George form the airport and we are hopping on a ferry to Rottnest for the day.

riding (Brownhill Creek) 56:00 [3] 19.3 km (2:54 / km)

Nearly couldn't get my bike out the front door past the huge pile of stuff in the hall waiting to be packed! 'Twas almost bucolic at the far end of the valley where the sheep are grazing, and the morning had the smell of going away on Easter holidays...
