Neighborhood, after dinner.
We were planning a hike up on the mountain* in a newly opened preserve but hadn't checked the weather forecast before driving up there, to notice some pop-up T-storms approaching. As were getting ready to leave the car we heard thunder and felt some light rain. Decided to get back in the car...checked the radar map and called it a day and headed back home.
*the part of South Mountain between us and Allentown that we can see out our back windows. Okay, maybe it's a tiny mountain compared to some...(some 170m higher than our elevation)

DVOA Brown course at Iron Hill in Newark, DE; 3.2 km, 80m climb claimed. In the low 80s and mostly sunny.
Some of this was a decent Brown course. We didn't need #1, on a trail junction, at all; not sure we needed #3. #5 (control 50) was mis-hung so I lost some time there but maybe not as much as some people. Patti C did well, winning the course in 61 minutes! So maybe she didn't have as much trouble on that one.
I also had some difficulty reading the detail around #14 with a 1:10000 map and a lot of trails and contours. If I was vetting this course I would at minimum have suggested dropping 1-2-3 (maybe adding a pit or dot knoll W of our #3), then going to #2 after #12 before heading to the finish, avoiding the extremely busy map area near #13-14. The dogleg from 11-12 could be avoided too.
I lost time on #5 (took 27:33 on an approx 300m leg), 6, 10 and 14.

Trails at West End Regional Park, where it was surprisingly un-busy for a nice Saturday (mid 70s and clear/sunny). Stayed on the mostly level sections to avoid too much climbing but max heart rate still went up around 140 or so. Except for Glen the only other mtb'ers I saw were heading out after I finished.
