Hiking (CMTR Spring) 1:00:00 [0] 0.91 km (1:05:39 / km)
ahr:92 max:125

I did the Alphabet "run" scavenger hunt with our not-quite-7-year-old grandson around/outside his house, letting him take photos on my camera of some of the things we found. He was very helpful. :-D

DVOA Ridley Crk SE Brown course, 3.1, 135m climb, temp in low to mid 40s to start, about 50 when we left.

Lots of trail running (because the green woods are so thick and even white woods have brush slowing you down. 3 small non-spikes (4, 7, 10), but I was always within the circle and just had to look around.

Claimed the CMTR PJ Party badge...

A bit cooler today (still windy) so that may explain why I walked faster. Or that there weren't many "hills" on this route, where I picked up 5 more LST streets in CityStrides. Low 40s and sunny.

(Claimed the Egg Run--35 minutes, sometime over Easter weekend)

"All out 80s" challenge (a couple minutes short, but I wasn't sure of the exact number of minutes needed), listening to an 80s playlist on Spotify on my phone. Breezy and cooler, mid 40s and partly cloudy. More LST streets, too.
:-)

Finishing up the last "street" in Coopersburg for CityStrides. I think I'll edit OSM to make it a "parking aisle" since that's exactly what it is. "Poplar Alley" doesn't exist; the apartment complex is Charles Place, anyway.

Mid 50s and overcast.

Walking 41:16 intensity: (2:18 @0) + (31:58 @1) + (6:22 @2) + (21 @3) + (17 @4) 3.84 km (10:45 / km) +38m 10:15 / km

A loop in "Springfield Township" to get some distance, and a road in CS. Then to the grocery store.

To start of short advanced UsynligO course at Brownell in Carbondale. We didn't see another soul while we were there, just a junked car/truck and a lot of junk (dumped near parking--5 mattresses among them--and near the start, where there were a bunch of holiday decorations for various holidays, and a toilet, and several smashed and/or shot up TVs). Upper 50s to near 60 when we finally got started.

Orienteering (Brownell short adv) 1:29:48 intensity: (2:20 @0) + (6:10 @1) + (34:06 @2) + (37:36 @3) + (8:35 @4) + (1:01 @5) ***** 3.78 km (23:45 / km) +52m 22:14 / km

Wow!! Very intense map reading. And a bit more physical (climbs) than I'm really ready for. I knew better than to go on the longer (4.1 km, vs 3.4) course on the first visit here, but even this was too much for my brain to handle. By the time I got to #7 (after missing #6 by one spur, but getting close enough to hear the tune without actually descending and ascending) at about an hour I knew I wouldn't do the entire course in the time we'd arranged to be out (1.5 hours), so I looped over to a trail, decided not to drop to 8 and 9 but visit 10 (edge of an open area, with a great view across the valley) and then 13-14, because 11-12 were back in the superdetailed area. We'd even cropped and printed the 1:7500 maps at ~1:5000 but that was barely enough. :-)

Thank you for making the maps and designing the courses, GregA!

A bit warmer while we were out, and sunny. I'd brought a Camelbak to use but left it in the car and never missed it until 20 minutes into the course (on the way to #3). Oops.

Looking for early spring ephemerals at Burkhart preserve. Saw a few bloodroots, but no toadshade toadstool trilliums yet. Didn't hear/see a woodpecker where I saw one last time, either. Tossed some smaller branches off the trail but didn't have any tools to attack the logs (not that I would anyway).

I usually do a clockwise loop (or set of loops; this is a small park) but decided to go downhill first this time. Upper 40s and sunny, and out of the N breeze on the SE side of the ridge.
