Hiked in South Range of Trexler Nature Preserve while Glen rode mtb trails on the North range before heading to where I parked the car. Yellow/blue and Red trails. Low 50s to start and mostly cloudy, closer to 60 when we left.

AOWN: As I left the parking area I saw a kestrel fly by, and later on after I'd reached the red trail I saw a larger bird and at first thought it was a great blue heron (which I love to watch whether flying or hunting) but as it flew overhead I could see a white head and tail. ;-) Heard many others but they were elusive.

Also, 3-4 other hikers, 3 runners going the opposite way, and 3 bikers who were mostly walking their bikes up hills.

Scenic View trail in Alburtis/Lower Macungie, PA. Mid 50s and breezy, mostly sunny with scattered clouds.

We went to Lock Ridge Furnace to see the grape hyacinths, but think we missed the peak which was probably last week. There were some, but not quite to the extent they might be. Then went for a walk on a trail close by, which was mostly paved, and about 4-5' wide, so we walked off trail a number of times to avoid other users.

AOWN moments: IDed a new-to-me plant: purple dead nettle; and saw a family of red foxes (adult--probably mom--and at least 6-7 kits) through the trees and across a set of train tracks from our trail.

Neighborhood, and the townhouse neighborhood across Lanark Rd. I saw a woman there place something in a plot of ornamental grass and as I walked by one I discovered she was laying toy dinosaurs in them, perhaps for a dino hunt on Easter(?). Fun.

Low 40s and windy (from N). Mostly cloudy with some peeks of sun.

Neighborhood walk with Glen, in two parts. We started when it was mostly sunny and upper 60s but hadn't gone far before it started to shower, and got a bit cooler. Turned around and came back home to change clothes and wait it out a bit.

Part 2 was lower 60s, still threat of a shower (and we had a brief, light one), but more appropriate clothing including raincoats to start. Sun is shining through scattered clouds now.

Around the "block" and then around the community. Beautiful day, partly cloudy and upper 60s.

Nockamixon SP, south side of the lake, from parking at Old Ridge Rd, while Glen ran. Got to the parking area near the top of the dam. Lovely day with sun and low 60s temps.

No one there when we arrived; two additional vehicles when we finished. I saw a couple heading the opposite way as me on the closer-to-the-lake trail (headed back).

Bloodroot in bloom, and a similar looking yellow flower that I can't remember, plus scattered forsythia and a mystery shrub/thicket in a clearing not far from the road so maybe at an old homesite? Lots of "green" off-trail.

Walking 19:10 intensity: (4:48 @1) + (11:46 @2) + (2:10 @3) + (26 @4) 0.75 km (25:23 / km) +18m 22:38 / km
ahr:109 max:147 shoes: 2019 Altra LP4.0 9 rspb

Parked at dam parking lot and walked along the fence to overlook the spillway water cascade.
