Walking 20:00 [1]

Glen and I went to the Clark Art Museum this morning. This includes the walk up the hill to the Lunden Gallery and back down the hill.
The Clark is currently hosting an exhibit of Van Gogh nature paintings (and sketches) there through mid September, a few from their collection and many others on loan.
They also have the original Whistler's Mother painting on loan from the Musee d'Orsay in France. It's much larger than I expected, almost 5 feet square. They also borrowed (from Colby College in Maine) the etching that is painted, in less detail, on the wall behind his mother as she rests in her chair. It's a scene on the Thames River, which coincidentally was on the other side of the wall in Whistler's studio in London as his mother posed for the painting, which I thought was interesting trivia.
If you're in the area and haven't gone, be sure to get there by the 13th to see the Van Goghs!
