Orienteering race (Green) 1:46:21 [3] *** 6.1 km (17:26 / km) +133m 15:43 / km

Pawtuckaway camping weekend day 2. Much nicer weather, starting in the upper 60s and only climbing into the mid 70s, sunny, less humid. Did more running but still a lot of walking. Nominal 5.1 km; green course again.

Tentative in area of 1 (there were a LOT of hills/rocks/rocky hills), and too close to the road to #2 but corrected just fine. To 3 it seemed a bit farther than the hill circled, and there was a gigantic boulder closer than outside the edge of the circle as depicted on the map, but got there okay too, just plugging along on a bearing.

Really good to 4, after slogging up the hill after crossing Mountain Trail. Not sure I've ever been over this way before. Angled in from the stone wall at just the right place.

Leaving 4 I got a bit farther north than I planned but recognized what I was doing and corrected after crossing Mountain Trail again. Intended to hit the SW-NE stone wall and head in from the end of it but just missed to the north and hit the bicycle trail (not on the maps so we had to draw it in ourselves...good thing I did!!!). I figured out where I was pretty quickly and navigated just fine to the control from there. Back out to the bike trail and spiked #6 off the bend, Good enough to 7 and 8 though tentative in the circle before spotting the correct knoll/hill.

Saw some really, really cool house-size boulders out there! Wish I'd had a camera with me to take a picture of one set between 4 and 5.

Thanks to course setters Pete, Alar, and all the other volunteers of UNO for continuing this yearly tradition of great courses on a fantastic map.

Pawtuckaway Camping weekend, Green course (nominal 5.1 km). Temp was in the low 80s, so I didn't push it and walked most of the course except on trails and a couple of downhills.

Missed and circled around on both #5 and 6.

Supposed to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow.

Pilates class 55:00 [2]

Using the large exercise balls for arm and leg work. No roll-ups in the plan so I did a couple on my own during a transition. Doing bridges with heels on the ball then lifting one leg at a time is really hard on the hammies!!! Even harder than rolling the ball in towards your butt, imho.

Twinges from ankle haven't been much since last week but wanted to be careful not to hurt it again before the weekend, so I walked on the Y track before deciding whether to go to the elliptical or jog. Walking felt fine so I did 1/2 mi walk, 1/2 mi jog, repeat; then another 1/4 mi-plus (4.5 laps on inner lane) before a couple laps cool down.

Adductors at 75#, 8 pulldowns at 68.75#, and stretching.

Walking 31:40 [2] 2.0 mi (15:50 / mi)

To P.O. and church in MB and back. Low 70s and lower humidity than earlier, but I was sweating by the time I got home.
