Billygoat XXXII at Mt. Tom near Holyoke, MA. Temp in 70s and overcast, but humid. Hooked up with Valerie leaving the field at the start and we hung together for the entire race, consulting on routes and which control to skip.
Probably could have picked a better skip later in the race, but after climbing from 3-4 we didn't want to have to go down 3 contours then climb straight up to 6 so we skipped 5, taking a more gradual route up the shoulder from 4-6.
Hit the 3:30 mark on the trail between 20 and 21... By the time it came to the fork (23) we decided to backtrack and stay low to avoid the silly climb up to the left fork.
Great companion for the race. Valerie dug right in after downloading, too, to straighten out the splits and results. :-) Thanks, Val!
Good course by Phil Bricker (and mostly a one-man show, too!). Thanks to Gail and Margie who staffed the aid station when we went through.
Maybe I'll add commentary later, but for now, this is enough.
14.206 km on my Forerunner (but who knows how accurate that is).
