Orienteering race (sprint) 24:35 [4] **** 2.18 km (11:17 / km) +75m 9:37 / km
spiked:13/15c shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 2

O/Br/Gr sprint at Trophy Point on West Point campus. Beautiful weather, warm and sunny (a little too warm, but manageable); starts near the end of the start window. Slow/tentative at the beginning because it was in woods with lots of dry leaves, but a lot of the course was trails or roads so I was glad I wore trail shoes and not O shoes. Too far around the spur on 3 (but no problem), but then I had lots of trouble reading what was what at 7 and overran it by a lot -- about a 3 minute error there, perhaps more? Fine the rest of the way. Nice course and beautiful venue with wonderful view up the Hudson River.

Not sure of seconds since my splits are not handy -- will edit later if necessary.

Orienteering race (middle-distance) 41:36 [3] *** 3.09 km (13:28 / km) +75m 12:00 / km
spiked:8/9c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 #2

Victor Constant Ski Slope, Brown Y course (some controversy as to which course was the right one, but Brown Y was on my meet packet...).

Took the right-hand route to 2, which saved me climb and rocks. A little off on 5; checked another bag, but only lost about 30 seconds or so. Saw bags at 2 and 8 from a distance so it was just a matter of getting myself there... Nice course-- whether it was the correct one remains to be seen.

Walking hills 29:50 [3] 2.0 mi (14:55 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 #4-Y

Up to the mile-turnaround point on Pratt Rd. and back (stopped at the PO on the way to mail stuff).

Computer problems still not resolved; less worried about viruses and more worried about my virus scan package. More investigation needed.

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

Class in Chatham.

Fighting the computer before and since. I have a love/hate relationship with computers... Oh, if only there were just GOOD people in the world.

Walking hills (roads - paved/dirt) 52:26 [3] 3.51 mi (14:56 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 #4-Y

Walked the north "loop," which contains one significant hill and some smaller ones, clockwise, and added a detour into town to add distance (and just a bit more climb). Gorgeous spring day, sunny and 60F.

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

In Chatham (after a week's break). Felt good to get working again; I didn't do core or strength work last week beyond treadmill and orienteering. Used one set of risers on the step and had minor tweaks in my left knee but nothing dreadful. Concentrating on it helps a little bit for stabilizing.
