Below 0 with the wind chill, but it was beautiful in the woods,

well except for the dead opossum near the fox den.

Dressed perfectly for Peppering, but then decided that we may as well go to the dog park and see if there was any action. Pepper at the dog park - posing...

Pepper got some action - see the squiggly part of her tracks, but I was FREEZING! Luckily, Roger answered the phone when I called the house, and we got a ride home.

Too cold for any sustained Peppering today, so here is a picture of Pepper instead.

Roger says I should stop teasing his child.

I don't know why he says that! :)

(A Very Weenie) Snow Day!!

Thankfully, Pepper didn't want to go too far the first time out the door.

I had hoped to work on a new, cozy quilt for our bed, but the only sewing I did all day was to mend one of Roger's gloves.

Sort of stuck on the quilt - not really loving the colors - maybe not bright as I would like.

In the afternoon, I bundled up and we went looking for the fox and deer behind the house. Despite wearing the icebugs, my feet flew out from under me, and i slammed onto my back and hit my head. Good thing there were so many leaves, which is why I slipped to begin with.

Out to the field at work before taking Pepper home at lunchtime.

She likes to eat snow. At least this last patch wasn't on the over-salted parking lot.

So cold!!

Back to work today. Heat in the building on the fritz.

We waited until almost 10 to go out for out for a walk - distance not recorded, but pepper rolls were...

Pepper was happy to go back home at lunchtime...I ended up taking a long nap before going back to my cold office which went up five degrees by the time I left for the day the second time.

Pepper's tracks are in green except for the one straight line part where I took some pictures, and it turns out that stops the tracking app. Now I know...

Over the holiday break, I rearranged/organized the back basement, and in the process I found two pairs of icebugs which I had retired when I was injured couple of years ago. They are in really good shape, though stiff as a board. Shoehorned myself into them and out to the woods with Pepper. Trusting her a little too much maybe, but I do have a tracker on her with real time tracking, so I hope that is sufficient if she decided to leave out little bit of woods.

Shoes felt good, but I was tentative, even with the spikes, i.e., I didn't wear ankle braces, which I will start doing.

My little swatch of woods is beautiful.

Fox den.

I will try to return to AP as a regular, but I find it hard to talk about the light stuff, when there is some harder parts I am dealing with. It feels like pretending when I ignore them, but I also don't want to be a downer.

So, I am trying to get the most out of and enjoy the peppering. Though in this cold, a cat starts sounding really good, but then I look at this face...
