Today was let down day - postponed from when I licked it on Monday. Tried to fight it, even going home to get my bike at lunchtime. But, then I had lunch, and later in the day I was fighting off the sleepiness somewhat fierce, not actually succeeding, while at work. Oops.

I really was going to go for a ride when I got home, but Roger has had terrible insomnia from the steroids, and he was super fatigued. He wanted me to lie down with him, something that helps him sleep, so I took one for the team. No workout after that.

Misc (Riding lesson) 15:00 [1]
weight:195lbs

The only nervous part about taking riding lessons was making sure I got there on time, dealing with the beltway traffic. The place is close to Patuxent River Park.

My first thought was that the place was a bit derelict, but that impression faded pretty quickly. The picture sure turned out well.

The horse is Eddie and the instructor is Emily. Excellent teacher, telling me basic stuff in a chatty, interesting way. Today, I tacked up Ed, after giving him a good brushing and cleaning his feet. He was very dusty, likely rolling around in the dirt on this fine 70 degree day.

Then we learned the basics - go, stop, right, left, and back. Around and around.

Next week, we may get to trot!

This selfie hog is Ed's half brother...I forgot his name. He is a stallion, and was in area next to the driveway. He walked away once he realized that I didn't have any treats for him. Well, I did bring an apple, but I ate it on the way. Next time, big boy, now that I know what is allowed.

60! So nice out. How could I not get out the door after work. Good day at work as well. Very productive.

Only bad part of the ride was coming back up the hill which is usually bad, but this time some clown in a big truck passing too close to in order for his jerk passenger to yell Boo! in my ear.

Ah, well, still a good day.
