Misc (THE DVD) 40:00 [2]

Decided to get off the train going to no-where and get back on track - or something like that.

Mowed the lawn after some theraputic weed whacking - while waiting for the AC repair guy. New system in August needs to have the switch replaced - something the guy was too lazy to do then, so no power to the system when we turned it on last night.

Anyway, he arrived just after I finished the last swipe of the lawn the lawn mover. And the company did call within the first hour of the three hour window to say he was running late. So, a satisfactory experience except he has to come back and make a permanent repair to what he jury rigged today.

But back to the exercise - I got it done. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Orienteering race (Balls Bluff) 1:41:04 [4] *** 6.4 km (15:47 / km) +290m 12:52 / km
shoes: Ice Bugs - Red Storm

After working a race in the morning, I drove to Leesburg. Warm day at near 80 F, and I was the last person out - until Tim G snuck in and caught me at 2, though I beat him to 3. :)

Was going to drop to Green, but Heidi had gone out on Red, so I felt obligated to do as we agreed. Came around to the S/F for a map exchange, and she was finished. After getting input that the second part was better than the first, I did that loop, and it was.

Brain dead for the last two controls of the first loop, and mostly clean but slower on the second. Small map, though I only felt like once that I had been in the area - actually sights the control in an adjacent reentrant.

Cut my right knee in the first part - good blood, not real damage. Banged my bone above my right ankle - that hurts.

Anyway, it was a really good day!
