Note
Volunteering stint with the BAA at Hopkinton. I was the Chosen One from my corral, corral 3. I had the honor/responsibility to walk the moving corral sign with the last group in my corral to the starting line. Apparently the BAA is attempting to extract some data on how long it takes the corral to cross the starting mats. I'll have to seek out some more info on this, because it seems to me this information is already available from Chip Time at Starting line minus Gun Start.
Quite warm in the area, with the BAA taking the unprecedented step of permitting runners to defer their entry to 2013. I heard they even encouraged the non-qualified (ie, Charity) runners to defer.
By the time I got off the volunteer duty and over to my traditional spectating spot at the Natick/Wellesley line, runners were looking pretty ragged.
