Club champs red course, at Mt. Tom. Hotter than I was acclimatized for, navigation was sloppy in a couple of places, but when I bore down and concentrated, it was some of the best navigation I've done in a long time.

Park-O at Middlesex Fells. Couple of big errors. On Leg 4, I was virtually certain I was on the correct cliff, but I was one cliffy knoll to the south of the flag. On leg 6, I was confused by an unmapped trail between the stone wall and the fence, from which I could not relocate. I eventually returned south, got on the correct trail, and found the matching land form. On leg 9, Clem had picked up the control before I punched, but I was pretty sure I was at the correct feature. On leg 12, I went through the center of the circle, past the correct feature, missed the control, and went to too low a cliff. Clem, picking up the control behind me, said I had gone right past it.

One of these days I'll get to the Fells in enough time to do some mountain biking, but it wasn't this day.

I &*(&)ng hate Boston traffic.

June to Pleasant to May loop with J. Conversational pace. Legs felt fine, but a tiny bit feeble when we hit the hill near Sha'arei Torah. Decided to wear tights today. Temps about the same as yesterday, when I wore shorts and was a wee bit cold.

Found out our other training partner qualified for Boston yesterday in Maine. Way to go, Joe.
