Orienteering race 26:01 [5]

JK relay Newtyle Hill, EUOC 2nd team, 2nd leg
A good solid run, no time losses to speak of and pushing all the way. 2nd fastest on leg 2 to get us up from 9th to 4th.

Orienteering race 1:15:41 [5]

JK Long.
Didn't start the day well when I woke to find my back completely seized up again despite lots of stretching and rolling last night... being unable to put my socks on should have probably made me think I shouldn't run, but I'd been looking forward to Craig a Barns for a long time so after a massage at the event before my run I decided I still wanted to go out. However I think despite this I still didn't manage to find the right state of mind before the start and basically blew all my chances of JWOC in one awful race.

Orienteering race 36:47 [3]

JK Middle
Started slow as it was taking me a bit longer than usual to get into the map, had to actually stop and make sure things were fitting at least once on each of the first 6 legs.
After that it picked up, and I didn't really make any mistakes apart from not realising I could cross the fence next to the spectator control, I ran all the way up to the gate and past the drinks point.

Event: JK 2012

Orienteering race 19:04 [5]

Basically couldn't believe it when they said I'd mp'd. 3 controls in a straight line across the river, focussing too much on the bridge crossing which the website had described as complicated. Got to 17, saw the line across the river and completely missed out 18. Can't believe it. Don't think I've ever mp'd in the past, typical it had to happen at a selection race.

Note

Back finally feeling a bit better after getting the last assignment finished on Wednesday so no more sitting at my desk and just lots of rolling and stretching.
