Orienteering race 2:18:07 [3] 15.1 km (9:09 / km)

Jukola leg 7
Physically v flat - couldn't make a fast start and went backwards in the long (and dare I say it quite dull, green and grotty?) ungaffled section. But I already knew I had no terrain strength and the team goal was just to get round safely.
Technically almost perfect. Had to go in to #9 twice from a decent a/p, missed it by metres and feel this was quite unlucky. Other than that I really don't think I missed anything.
But the main thing was Team Cochrane and we had some outstanding runs to make sure the team got round in one piece. 6 of the 7 were running their longest ever course! Ed came out of a 5 year retirement to set us off, Dad ran about twice his usual length, Jon got us through the long night leg with minimum of fuss, Mum had her best run of the year on the hardest course of the year, and Em & Sal had the guts and determination to keep going for 4+ hours in the worst of the conditions without jacking it in. Heroic!
