Curling 2:00:00 [1]

Playoff curling game, round two. A good battle. I've been sore most of the week from this game, very slow ice and sweeping like crazy.

Running 44:56 [4] 4.0 mi (11:14 / mi) +103m 10:24 / mi

Fun red course. Thanks Pete!

1-Started fast run to one, wanted to push the pace today, as we had only 5.4k. A bit tough to make out the mapped terrain (trees and roads didn't appear much like on the map) but found the control without too much fumbling and grabbed fastest split.

2-Across the road and back up the otherside, then tried to use a bearing to head to the control, but veg dictated that I just follow the ridgeline over to the cliff. Went to the edge of the cliff but no control, shortly thereafter saw it 20 feet below me. Fun terrain.

3-Fast run on a bearing to the control, nearly ran by it, but one I was in the circle I was able to see it.

4-worked my way east a bit to the trail - curious to see what others did, anybody go totally direct?

5 - Aweful control. I DID look at both going east around the lake as well and going high right, but choose to go direct. This was the only control I lost time on, and it was 90 seconds! Yikes. The terrain was thick, hilly, and to make matters worse, I cut down into the ravine WAY to early. Big bummer.

6 - Tough going back down the rest of the ravine, then no problems.

7 - Rast east on trail to control, anybody go direct?

8 - Straight to the east to the river trail, then hugged the shoreline, seemed fast.

9 - Heartrate killer up the steep slope. Very fun and Curtis like.

10- Stayed on roads as much as possible.

11- Nabbed fastest split here, and up the big hill? I must have had a great route?

12- Felt fast to this control, but Biz got this one by 5 seconds.

13 - Distracted a bit by a neighboring courses control, but still had a good split.

14- Whoa, gear junkie SMOKED this one, lost 30 seconds to him, and I thought I was moving pretty well. I think going more direct would have helped, I went east to the trail fairly early and trail running was not very much faster.

Great fun.

Cycling 1:26:00 [3] 23.6 mi (16.5 mph)

A ride up and around the lakes and back home, with a stop at the Burke's house to say hi. 47 degrees, which is the warmest day of the spring thus far, but still made for a fairly chilly ride. Nice and sunny though, and some of the roads had gotten swept today, so riding season is drawing closer.

Spin class. Felt good after taking yesterday off. Pushed some big gears, had some fun, good stuff.
