Mt Tom, Western Mass rules score-o. Nice course, did mostly the northern part, as I wanted to navigate in the tricky topography there. Kept in good contact, but I had forgotten my spikes, so fell a few times and very gingerly going down the rocky slopes. Started with #11, then 8, 7, 15, thinking I’d skip the three in the NE, but 16 looked interesting so went for that, then back to 14, 6, 10, 5, across the road to 9, down the trail to 1 and home. Mostly walking, hamstrings and low back complaining, then pretty exhausted when I got home. Nice course.

Run and walk. Jogging on the way out with Matt and Hua, then meeting up with Rhonda and walking with her on the way back. We had thought she would be walking the whole time, but she couldn't stand it and was only about a minute behind us.

Note
Got home to find out that Jonathan had shot an 8 point buck back in the woods. He had gone out with our friend and neighbor Steve, who showed him what to do, provided him a tree stand, and most important, showed up after Jonathan shot his deer and helped him track it the quarter mile it went until it expired, field dress it, carry it back and do the paperwork. And then after a bit I accompanied Jonathan to the Litchfield Meat Locker, where they butcher deer, among other things. There were a few others there that seem also to have arrived today.
Steve is a wonderful guy. He has been hunting here for quite a few years, at least 12 or so, maybe 15. He has some motion cameras out and had caught this deer on camera a few times. He was certainly looking for him. Very generous with his time and expertise to help the beginner whose beginner's luck got the buck. Although Steve gets plenty of venison on his own.
