Ride in from the car service place in North Freo. Roads wet but no rain. Very tired legs today after two days of running. The silly path is closed somewhere out near Somewheresville so I ended up riding through a dodgy, potholed carpark for a bit.

Back to Nth Freo to pick up the car. Faster than this morning's effort, which had more road crossings, but still hard work from either:
a) being sick all last week;
b) orienteering;
c) lack of any riding lately; or
d) being weak.

MTBO will be interesting this weekend if I back up this badly after two days totalling 26km I can't imagine what one day at Urban Max is going to do to me for riding abilities.

Much better run today, as is the norm on a two day event, I was actually leading after the third control after having my cleanest run ever then blew it on the fourth by attempting to contour around the hill, stupid! What I thought would be the hardest section on the east side of the map turned out to be relatively easy except taking the rocky option across the hill from 9-10 wasn't the fastest.

Doing well up until 15 where I had a major map reading error and read a gully as a spur and couldn't for the life of me make sense of the map until I hit the big rock surface to the north and figured out what I'd done. Few legs off course after that, 17-18, 19-20 and 22-23 but corrected without too much of a blowout.

Really happy with my nav today but sturggled from about halfway around having not taken anything to eat and attempting to back up from yesterday's run. Stopped for water once at 16.

Really enjoyable day.

Nice courses, starting in the open woodland areas then going out into the open paddocks. Starting off badly, went way wide on the first two controls and completely overshot the first, before I got myself settled. Couple of misses on the rocks at 6 and buggered up 10 when I thought I navved well around the spur but was way too high. Phil came in behind me and made the same mistake, as did someone else behind him.

Saw Craig walking up the hill to 9 when I was heading over to 12 so thought I had him covered, turns out not. Did better in the fields but still hesitant on the fast loop around 16-19, then completely wrecked 22 by overshooting it. Still convinced not all the trees are mapped out there. Went wide to the finish and ended up blowing my chance at sub-60 min effort. Poo.

Hopefully this ends my lethargy/illness week. After all, I have an Autumn Classic to win! Or at least a jelly snake. Also the TTTTTWTT,T is suffering.

Friday session, on a Thursday??? This session was a bit short for some reason so I added to it but it was still short. I'll have to make some of the exercises longer or try and remember some of the forgotten ones to add on.

Felt flat all day at work and since I'm still sick I decided against canoe polo, but went along to watch Pip's team get flogged in the first game and not quite as flogged in the second :P Don't know where the rest of the people who'd promised to come along were.
