Note
(rest day)

In the 10 days I had off for break, I did 12 hours of training and got 192 controls. Pretty solid week.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

so early. so cold.

Orienteering 14:21 [3] *** 2.7 km (5:19 / km) +69m 4:43 / km

Pretty good race. lost a bit of time on 11, but that's mostly it. I just had a good run, although I didn't feel very fast until the last 3 or 4 controls when I really started to push. For the most part, I just went straight. Took the first few controls easy, then kinda just let things happen.

A few controls on the model map. Here's what I've discovered:

White is ok, definitely not as fast as harriman, but faster than some places I've been. The visability is good.

Light Green is slower, but you can make your way through. Generally good visability.

Dark Green. No.

Yellow. Either nice, or not. Some places you can run just fine, usually knee-high gass. Other places are not nice and have a lot of crap and you can't run very fast, and you would probably wanna go around. for the most part, though, the yellow seemed alright, although tiny clearings can be tough to spot (since they could be anywhere).

Green slash (this is what I've been told) wide lines mean deadfall, close mean crap.

O-intervals on polebrook. Ran it as a course, though, and cut from 10-20. Ran easy, just trying to have good flow and be clean.

NAOC training at saxon woods. Ran with the GoPro. Pretty decent time out there. Had a few mistakes and a few of the streamers were miss-hung, but it was good for the most part.
