So control 3 was really really bad. lost 8 minutes there. I followed a slope around and so I wasn't sure which hillside i was on, and i guessed wrong. Took me a long time to recover. This wouldn't have been an issue in the daytime (for the record). 4 was slow because I thought I was staring at a bear. there were two eyes that were close to bear eye width apart. It was looking right at me, then it got taller. I was kinda freaked out so for the next few minutes I kinda looked everywhere expecting to get mauled. I never did, though, and I'm now pretty sure it was a deer. Anyway, got 4. my route wasn't bad it was just being afraid of dying that cost me time. 5 was bad too. route was good for the most part but I mucked up near the end, and kept checking for bears. 6 woulda been a lot better if the trails I was looking for were actually trails and not stone walls. Not a big problem, just ended up going a bit more around. Once I left 6, though, everything started clicking, and I flew through the rest of the course with almost no problems!

10min @ 70%, 80%, 90%. Was supposed to do 6.20, 6.10, 6.00, but ended up doing 6:37, 6:25, 6:40. This was exhausting and I'm kinda bummed I wasn't able to do it. and by kinda i mean really.

Was supposed to run for an hour, but my knee was being a bit bothersome. In the beginning, I thought it was just from soreness, but after 20 minutes and I could still feel it, I decided to take it easy and cut the run short. Hopefully it'll get better over the night and I'll be able to run the full 100 minutes tomorrow. I did a few squats to check the stability in my knee and everything seemed fine (phew!) so hopefully my IT band isn't mad at me again.

I was pushing hard, too. I suppose I could have been intimidated or just ran slower because when I calculated my pace i came up with 6min/mile instead of 5, but i'm pretty sure I'm just not that fast.
