Orienteering 1:40:56 [3] *** 9.4 km (10:44 / km)

I think the most important thing to note is the stick I took to the eye haha it ended up costing me a fair bit of time. I considered quitting right after it happened (just before number 2) but decided I would need to finish the race if I wanted it to be a good story, so I did. Had a few bobbles, but nothing like yesterday. I screwed up 8, which was kinda demoralizing, and I ended up walking 9-11 because of that and because it was thick and I was being very careful about things hitting my face. After 11, though, I all the sudden felt like running again, so I really raced the rest of the course, and I'm very pleased with myself. I've discovered that using your compass helps a lot, and the more the better. I definitely saved myself a few times. One thing I'm definitely going to start doing is working on my control taking procedure. Looking at my exit as I come in, checking my direction, then making sure the two line up, and only then going. The 3 seconds it takes to orient myself are definitely worth it.
